Water cycle-Hurumanu

Today in our Science Hurumanu/Climate Chaos we had to connect scientific words and they had to connect and relate to each other we wrote how they connected.

These were the words we had to work with:

Water cycle
Precipitation
Evaporation
water vapour
transpiration
Carbon dioxide
Climate change
Hurricanes
Condensation
Acid rain

For-Water cycle
I connected Condensation, Evapouration, Precipitation, Transpiration because they are the parts of the water cycle

For-Carbon dioxide
I connected Acid rain and precipitation

For-Climate change
I connected Hurricanes and the water cycle

All of these Parts of science Connect with eachother

What we did:
  • For the Beats & Beyond Hurumanu, we have been learning about new instruments that Mr Mitchell brings.
  • After that we met a singer named Ryan Neville, we came to our school and only the hurumanu people went to see him at the auditorium. He taught us some parts of the instruments and also talked a little about himself.
  • After we made our own song lyrics and then made our own music using Garageband. After we were put in little groups to perform a song with the team in front of the hurumanu class.
What I learned:
  • I learned different instruments, I also learned new different parts of the instruments. One type of instrument is woodwind, the clarinet is a woodwind which you have to blow into. That is something new I learnt in the hurumanu. But I also learned more than that. I learned different genres like Blues, Folk Music, Dubstep and etc.
What I enjoyed:
  • I enjoyed learning about new instruments and also learning about famous people, we had to write a biography about some famous people and I enjoyed that task a little bit but not too much because it was a tricky task. I enjoyed writing song lyrics and making music for it too. It was also a difficult task because it had to be something I'm inspired about. I didn’t know anything that inspired me so I wrote a song about a game that I was good at, to make it easier for me.
What I found difficult:
  • What I found difficult was that some people were distracting us and we couldn’t focus that much we managed to get our work finished. The other thing I found difficult is writing the song lyrics and working with others because they waste most of the time and don’t get the work done.

P.E Hurumanu

This week we played Cross court games inside of our school gym our focus
was learning to solve problems and work in a team smoothly.

Our activity was Cross-court games For this activity I rated my self as a level 3.
To achieve at level 3 we have to show that we can consistently show respect
to the opponents and our own team. During the game of Cross court games
I showed that I am working at level 3 by Believing in my team and Supporting
These examples show that I have met the standard for level 3.

While playing the Cross-court games, something that I found challenging was
people hitting your feet with hockey sticks The reason I found this challenging
was because some people didn’t keep the sticks on the ground and they didn’t
stop hitting it in the air. However, I managed to overcome this challenge by telling
someone about what happened and calmly telling the opponents to hit it on the ground.

Next week I am aiming to work at level 4 To make sure that I am working on
that level I am going to work on leading my team to victory and not getting frustrated
over people cheating.

Radical Rainbow- Mufty Day

Our theme for this mufty day is Radical Rainbow, we thought this theme would suit the mufty day because when we give the money away it would turn there life around and that puts happiness inside of them and happiness relates to a rainbow.

We are raising money for people who doesn't have much so we can make a difference in their life.
It speeds kindness to our community because someone in our community might have nothing and with the support of us, we can make their day and they can make someone else's day and it keeps going around.

We can make the day successful by organizing the money, dressing up as a rainbow and having fun!
If Kids can ,can make a difference so can we!
