Life in Pompeii
Greek settlers made the town part of the Hellenistic sphere in the 8th century B.C. An independently-minded town, Pompeii fell under the influence of Rome in the 2nd century B.C. and eventually the Bay of Naples became an attraction for wealthy vacationers from Rome who relished the Campania coastline.
By the turn of the first century A.D., the town of Pompeii, located about five miles from the mountain, was a flourishing resort for Rome’s most distinguished citizens. Elegant houses and elaborate villas lined the paved streets. Tourists, townspeople and slaves bustled in and out of small factories and artisans’ shops, taverns and cafes, and brothels and bathhouses. People gathered in the 20,000-seat arena and lounged in the open-air squares and marketplaces. On the eve of that fateful eruption in 79 A.D., scholars estimate that there were about 12,000 people living in Pompeii and almost as many in the surrounding region.

Drama- What are props?
A prop, formally known as (theatrical) property,is an object used on stage or screen by actors during a performance or screen production. In practical terms, a prop is considered to be anything movable or portable on a stage or a set, distinct from the actors, scenery, costumes, and electrical equipment. Science Experiment- Distillation
-Separate a Solution: to collect the solvent (Liquid).0
-Distillation is the scientific experiment used to show to process of condensation.
-Aim: To separate a solute from a solvent in a solution using distillation.
-Equipment: A solution of Cola, Conical flask, heatproof mat, a delivery tube and bung, Bunsen burner, Tripod, gauze mat, retort sand, boss head and clamp, a boiling tube, Coke Zero
-Method:
1. set up the equipment as shown in the diagram
2. add approximately 50mL of saltwater to your conical flask
3. Light your Bunsen burner. Open the air hole an gently push the Bunsen burner under the tripod.
4. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated. Turn off your Bunsen burner.
Hypothesis- Coca Cola- I think that coca cola is going to fizz up more because it actually has more sugar in it compared To Zero
Coke Zero- I think that coke zero is going evaporate and dissolve,
Results- The results were the conical flask has barely any cola inside of it anymore and inside of the bong tube had lots of steam and looked like when you heat up a jug it looks like it is steaming and that is what i saw inside of this experiment, Evaporation was used when the solvent was slowly melting in mid air.
Discussion- I saw that these experiments are somehow connecting to solvent/solution also using Dissolve, Solute, Solvent, Solution,Evaporate,Condense,Distillation
Conclusion- This Task worked and looked really interesting to watch things condense whilst the solvent was left behind...

Silent Movie
Hello Today in Drama we got told to make a story telling what teenagers nowadays are doing. In this we were meant to Put an image of something relate able towards it and also add a song, In this case we decided to make it that teenagers are kinda addicted to technology so then our scene is a fire inside of a house and then the kid doesn't listen to his mother and then he calls the firefighters to help him- Once the firefighters come the music plays and then he goes towards the kid taking his phone and then grabs him to safety and the kid realizes what happened and says "sorry i should have been paying more attention" Here is the music we added to our story and the picture we chose towards our scene!

Evaporation Experament
We have been learning about evaporation and everything to do with it- Just so you know Evaporation means the process of turning from liquid into vapor.
Our aim is to Evaporate copper,Sulfate. (Blue Liquid) ==> Solute- Solid, Solvent-Liquid, Solution-Mixture,
I think that it would turn into gas and turn into a different color on the way of that happening.

Pikelets
On Tuesday we made Pikelets and we made it with this process, ingredients and when we made this some of them were kinda burnt but they tasted all the same the thing we needed to work on was trying to cook it on the correct temperature because we had it on 7 but we needed to turn it all the way down to 5 when we did this it turned out perfectly and we were all proud of the work we had accomplished.
Ingredients:
1 cup Edmonds Standard Grade Flour 1 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder1/4 tsp salt1 egg1/4 cup Chelsea White Sugar3/4 cup Meadow Fresh Original Milk (approx.)

Method:
Sift Edmonds Standard Grade Flour, Edmonds Baking Powder and salt into a bowl.
In another bowl beat egg and Chelsea White Sugar until thick. Add with Meadow Fresh Original Milk to the sifted ingredients. Mix until smooth.
Spoon tablespoon-full amounts onto a hot greased griddle or non-stick frying pan. Turn pikelets over when bubbles start to appear on the surface. Cook until golden.
Drama, Tiktok Story
In Drama today we had to make a story while using some tik tok dances and we chose renegade, for me myself i don't really know how to do any tik tok dances so the girls in my group had to help me out, we chose to do a story about two people were on a date and one of them was late so the lady was mad because she got ready for the date then she hit the innocent man and he was sad, but luckily the restaurant owner helped the man out and hurt the girl, then that was the story... Whilst we were recording the video we got prepared to set all of the stuff up that we needed, I was kinda shy while recording the video that's why i was quiet.. Showing Empathy
The meaning of Empathy is Giving kindness Or by sharing the feelings of one another also Showing support! The best saying for this is the phrase "What goes around comes around" This phrase means if you help someone else you will get helped by that person or have the kindness shown to you on what you showed them!

-When i watched the video i felt that he was doing kind deeds to the community and saw a family grow. This man helped people in need and even plants that haven't even fully grown.
One time i showed empathy was giving my friends food when they had none and asked them if that was enough! Also i let an elder sit on the bus where i was going to sit. That was My good deeds of kindness Tell me in the comment section what your good deed was that you have done.
I think it is important to be an empathetic person because when your empathetic you can watch things evolve and makes you happy that you have made a difference in many lives!

10 rules to survive a zombie apocolypse
1. Do NOT be a hero, another dead person means another zombie!
2. Wear a seat belt, you never know when you'll run into a zombie or two.
3. Get a kick ass partner, if you wanna be batman you gotta have a robin.
4. Always carry a spare change of underwear, you don't wanna be running from zombies with dirty underwear!
5. When in doubt know your way out, because you never know when somethings gonna sneak up on ya.
6. Avoid crowded places because there is most likely a zombie or two hiding in there.
7. A little sunscreen never hurt nobody, a sun burn is something you don't really want during an zombie apocalypse...

Chemistry
Today in science we did an experiment about Concentration vs Dilution for The Mixture/Solution Task- Concentration means its Strong and Dilution means Weak
Here was our Serial Dilution in this task / experiment we repetitively made it weaker and continuously did it till we see a difference
We used the pipette to put one of the liquid into the other beaker Here was our result!
-As you can see it got weaker as it went And we made progress and To get the liquids in there we used a Funnel and the purple liquid is potassium permanganate. We really enjoyed working as a group to do this experiment and we hope to do more in the future...

Bullying/Being mean/Being rude
Whats the difference between Bullying, Being mean, Being rude-
Bulling- Is repetitive, Imbalance of power, Hurtful and Intentional
Being mean- Is when you act unkind, Cruel and hurting someone else feelings
Being rude- When you have bad behavior and have no manners. You may also be offensive
What Lines are bullying, Being mean or Being rude-
Limara tells MacKenzie that she can’t sit with her on the bus today because she is saving the seat for a girl from her Social Studies class- Being mean- Because The girl hurt MacKenzie's feelings that she will be lonely on the bus
Lucas tells Damon that he can’t hang out with him because he is the worst basketball player in the whole year group- Being rude- He had no manners and had bad behavior against Damon
Tasha makes plans to go to the school dance with her new friend, Gwen. Katie tells Tasha that if she hangs out at the dance with Gwen that everyone will think she is a total weirdo and no one will like her anymore. At lunch that day, Katie convinces everyone that it would be a really funny joke to all laugh out loud when Tasha approached the lunch table-Bullying- Because she made fun of Tasha and made everyone dislike her.
Devin and David are friends. In school, they had an argument. Devin called David a name and David shoved him out of his way-Bullying- Might have done this in the past and physically hurting someone is bullying
Marigold is making fun of the fact that Lucy hangs out with the boys at interval and wears long basketball shorts to school every day. In gym class, Marigold told her to go play on the boys’ team and the day before in homeroom, she wrote the words “You’re so gay” on Lucy’s desk-Being Mean- Disrespectful person Marigold was because she is just an unkind person.
Brady told JP he would beat him up if he touched his cars, then shoved JP out of his way. During math class, he threw a spitball at JP and kicked his chair out from under him. He threatened to punch JP if JP told the teacher-Bullying- Because turned people against him and keep't on doing things that repetitive
Emma and Brit play on the same field hockey team and are normally best friends, but have been in an argument for three days. Emma called Brit a mean name after practice and Brit sent Emma a mean text-Being Rude- Because Texts can get ignored but its also a cruel thing that Emma did.

I would like to know how to safely set my hands on fire.
Method:
Equipment:
Safety glasses
Gas hose
Deep tray
Liquid soap
water
gas
lighter
Inatructions:
1. wet your hands
2. tie up long hair
3. connect the gas pump
4. bubble the gas into soapy water
5.lift up your hand and walk away 2 steps from that spot with the hands up and to your face but away from it
6. get burnt on fire
7. slowly show your palms and stop
8. don't drop it or get scared or then you can explode the room
Results:

Banana and Choc chip Muffins
On Tuesday I made Banana and Chocolate chip muffins with Aryan and Lilly and Daniel we used oil instead of butter and it tasted delicious i think ours looked the best we also took 4 home and I ate all of the muffins It was perfectly cooked and tasted nice... Sorry i don't have any Photo So you cant see what it looked like.
Raising Agents
Chocolate Chip Cookies-
Today i made chocolate chip cookies in a group of four with my friends. First we layered out our ingredients on the bench we put out butter, white sugar, soft brown sugar, eggs, vanilla essence, flour, pinch of salt, baking powder and chocolate chips with these ingredients we worked out a way to make the method of making the cookies easier and that method is working as a group we enjoyed the cookies making and it also tasted really good. Peer Pressure-
When would someone use peer pressure?- When they tell you to do something you do not want to do
Why would they use peer pressure?- Because they want you to be like them or even worse!
Example-
If someone offers you a drug or dares you to do something naughty- illegal just say" i am fine" walk away and don't hangout with them again and say i think i am good with the responsible friends i have.. the reason you need to walk away is because they could convince you or threaten you to do the thing that they are telling you to do and also the right thing to do is the best thing and if you chose the bad thing it will stick with you for life and when you are older you will regret doing it.
What is peer pressure?-
Peer pressure is when someone tells you to do something that you know isn't right or forces you to do the thing that they say and that could be to.. hurt someone, Take illegal substances, Rob something or even something like saying something mean to someone else.
