Market Day- B&E

Yesterday we held a market day that everyone in year 10 and under has been planning for around 4 weeks, To keep you updated on what we were making, We made cheese rolls which had some onion aswell, Our targeted audience was everyone but was most popular to the elders. We set up our stalls infront of riroriro we finished our poster and was ready to setup our stall so we grabbed tables that fitted the poster because the poster was to big and we celetaped the poster to the table. Whea Raewyn printed out our online poster and stuck it on our poster (costed 20c). All of the other buisnesses looked like a good competition but we had hope that ours will sell fast. Once it got made inside of cooking class we carried them on plates (They were hot) and took them to our stall. We traded in money for paper money to buy things and then started selling them. As soon as we arrived and the marketing started we saw lots of teachers by our stall and they wanted some. We had a lot of customers and we only made around 60 of our product. We switched between group members to sell the item while the other group members were buying others products. In my opinion they tasted nice and lasted long. This market day was shockingly fun and I even brought myself a Extra Small tie dye shirt (I just wanted to make people laugh) And our product turned out a great success because we made $64. We spent 21.33 to make the products and got $42.67 extra than we made (Including the poster fees).

Survival extension task

In Home economics class the fast finishers had to create a quick survival meal with only materials that is on islands. We needed to make a equalivant meal with mixed protien.

Apple Muffins (Home Ec)

 Ingredients-

Sugar, apple sauce, Wholemeal flour, Soy Milk, Oats

Taste-

In my opinion, when we made the apple muffins it tasted dry and didn't really want to go for more. We had to try everyone's made muffins and they all tasted the same anyway we all made a different type of muffins with different ingredients and the best tasting one was the original flavoured one. I think sticking with original is a better idea.

What we needed to work on-

What we needed to work on is remembering the ingredients because we missed the sugar which made it more dry, And we put it inside of the oven for to long.

Looks-

The looks was alright and looked all the same, except for the dry ones that just looked rock solid.

Market Research- Promotion

Last Market Research I focused on Place This time I'm going to focus on promotion. Some of the questions were, Who are the people that you are focusing on, How would people find out about your product.

The people that we are concentrating on are everybody because it's crunchy and cheesy and I think that's a good combination. People will find about our product because when someone tastes the product they might tell others about their opinion on our rating, the smell of the product will be outside that means people could smell the product easier. Our promotion is based around our communities opinions and not our own because we would like to promote an honest company. We have already heard from some teachers and students that it seems like a good item to make, But they haven't tried it yet so we need to make it the best we possibly can. Here is our online poster-

Market Research- Place

Last Research I did was about our price and this time I'm thinking about the place or where we would set up, What will be the most popular area to set up in, if people are making a similar product how can you make yours eye-catching.

The most popular area to set up is probably outside the learning commons because that is the most popular place where people walk around / hangout and inside would be stacked with people and outside is fresher. People that make a similar product to ours was our main competition because we needed to make our eye-catching for people that walk past and just everyone in the area, we decided to make a giant poster with small posters our idea is to hang 10 small posters around the school with no colour, that will cost $1.00. Then we had to focus on our giant poster, We had to paint it to make it more outstanding.

Top 10 Ways to Find the Best Place to Live

Market Research- Price

In business studies, we talked about our Product, but now we are going to talk about price. Price involves  Competition, Customers opinions, Brand images and availability.

We got asked questions like what is the price of the product and how did you find the price, Everyone that is making something like ours we had to study and they are selling theirs for around $2.50 we know if we do the same price, it wouldn't sell as fast so we decided to make 60 of our product and sell it for $2.00 the reason why we didn't go with cheaper is that logically we would like to make more money and its an even number which is easier to calculate. Our final price was $2.00 and we will earn around $120+.

We ensure that we will make our product worth the price and extra cheesy. We took out the sausages to our product because we thought about the price we had to buy it for and how much we could sell and it didn't really work out.

Energy Transformation

The Law of conservation of Energy-

Energy can't be created nor destroyed but only from one form into another form.

Example of Energy Transformation-

Means needing a power source to connect to something like a phone like by using a charger or a battery with a flashlight.

Market Research- Product

For Market Day we are creating Crumbled Hotdogs in groups of four, We were told to be in groups of different year level, different wananga class and inside the same kahui, My group is Dani, Rarotonga, Charis and Myself.

Product-
Our product is Crumbled Hotdogs we are expecting to make over 20+ hotdogs, our product is inspired by Eḿs Kitchen on youtube, they gave us the idea to deep fry the hot dogs and put bread crumbs to make it more crunchy. Our product can´t do anything but it can fill your stomach, Our Product quality would be good because we are using the correct amount of ingredients needed and because it got a 4.7-star rating on youtube when made. The size is around 12 inches and the shape is a cylinder the volume isn't big but around the size of a sausage's volume. The packing comes in 1 but we will organise if someone gets more than 1 at a time there could be a small discount. Our ingredients are Bread, Bread crumbs, Egg, Sausage, flour, water and cheese. It already exist's from another person but we will remodel it.

Energy | Making Waves

Definition: Stored in an object, the ability to move something.

Mac and Cheese

Last week we made Maccaroni and cheese in a group with different people that were used to, this caused us to get sidetracked and we forgot the most important ingredient which caused it to fail

Ingredients

2L Water

2t Salt

1 1/2  c Pasta

3T Butter

3T Cornflour

2 c milk

1c Cheese - grated

1 Tomato - Sliced

Method

1. Bring water to boil. Add salt and pasta. Boil for 12 - 15 minutes. Drain (reserve a little cooking water in a measuring cup)
2. Pre heat oven to 180 C Fan Bake
3. Melt butter in saucepan. Gently saute onion and garlic (optional). Stir in cornflour and cook,
stirring until bubbles appear on surface. (cooking the roux)
4. Remove from heat and gradually add milk and (optional) grainy mustard, stirring constantly.
5. Return to heat and cook stirring constantly until it boils and thickens.
6. Remove sauce from heat, gently stir in cheese and parsley (optional), season with salt
 and ground black pepper.
7. Stir cooked pasts gently into sauce and pour into a greased ovenproof dish.
8. Put tomato slices on top, sprinkle over some breadcrumbs (optional) and some extra cheese.
9. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until well heated through.

Optional ideas:

* Gently cook finely chopped onion and garlic in the butter before adding the cornflour
* Add some wholegrain  mustard to the sauce.
* Add finely chopped parsley
* Use the reserved cooking water from the pasta to loosen the sauce if required
* Top with Panko breadcrumbs for crunchy topping

* Add some cooked, diced bacon

Our team worked really well as we all spread out the work between each other.
Something we need to work on is thoroughly read the recipe and not make any mistakes.

Our Macaroni and Cheese looked very bright in color and the sauce was yellowish white.
The macaroni was soft and a little bit chewy. You could distinguish the sauce and each flavor
in the recipe. It was also easy to serve and clean up.

Vegetarian Nachos

On Wednesday for home economics we made nachos in individual groups. Our groups did good together and it tasted flavoursome. What we could have added was meat, I know it was vegeterian Nachos but meat would be good with it.

The Ingredients:
Corn Chips
Sour Cream
Chili Beans
Can Tomatoes Mushrooms
Cheese
Onion
Corn
Peas
----------------------------------------
Method

1.Chop up the vegetables
