Definition: Stored in an object, the ability to move something.
Different kinds of energy!
-Light Energy- The energy of the electromagnetic waves. Found in Microwaves, x-rays, and visible light.
An example is the Electric Bulb, Candle, Lamp
-Heat Energy- Caused by the movement of particles. Found in all hot objects.
An example is the Sun and Fire
-Sound Energy- Energy produced by vibrating objects. Examples are speech, ultrasound and music
An example is instruments, radio
-Chemical Potential Energy- Energy stored in the bonds between particles. Found in substances like petrol and food.
An example is a battery, car
-Electrical Energy- The movement of electrically charged particles. Found in wires, generators and lighting
An example is batteries and energy generated by electrical eels.
-Gravitational Potential Energy- Energy stored in objects due to their height above the ground.
An example is a raised weight, rocks, book
-Kinetic Energy- Energy due to the motion of an object Eg. Moving Cars, Running and Swimming
An example is a gun bullet, moving car, rollercoasters
-Elastic Potential- Energy stored in stretched and squashed objects.Eg. Springs and Rubberbands
An example is a bow, bungee, String
I am a student at in Uru MÄnuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you.
